Puffed rice organic or expanded rice is a versatile product made from rice grains. Puffing is a process in which a sudden release of water vapor causes the expansion of pre-gelatinized grains. Puffed rice organic is a pre-cooked ready-to-eat product that can be used as a snack and can be made part of snack foods. Puffed rice like any other cereal provides a fair amount of protein, phosphorous, iron and in small amounts B vitamins. There is no mud, sand or external contamination in the product. It has an almost negligible amount of fat. It is mildly salted so that it can be eaten as such.
